Meet Iz and Oak Western Couture: Elevated Styles for Life Way Out West

Howdy!

My name is Sage, and I'm so glad you're here. Iz and Oak reflects the spirit of the working cowgirl with a couture spin. Just as the Wild West was built on rugged individualism, we believe that today’s cowgirls deserve a wardrobe as unique as they are. Around here, we live by the idea that we’re never ‘just selling clothes.’ We know the clothes we wear are a direct connection to our western way of life- which is why we’re committed to capturing the authentic spirit of the west through the brands and pieces we carry, as well as in our photoshoots that take place here in the rugged beauty of New Mexico.

Iz and Oak: High Fashion For the Ranch

My dream to create a western brand rooted in the authentic spirit of the west started my senior year of college. After I obtained my degree in animal science and ranch management, it became a reality. My personal style can almost always be defined by feathers, pink Mojave, and maximum amounts of serape. I also love sparkles, fringe and anything that makes you pause and go “I haven’t seen that before!” I’m a true believer that fashion is art! My other passion outside of fashion is working with mules. (In fact, my two mules- Izzy and Oakley- are both the inspiration for the name and logo of our store!)

One of the phrases you’ll hear around here often is “authentic, always” and that’s because growing up in New Mexico gave us a deep appreciation for the cultural and spiritual significance of turquoise jewelry. We are committed to only carrying authentic stones and both Native and Artisan made pieces.

We love sourcing a beautifully curated collection of turquoise from both here in New Mexico as well as surrounding areas. Our favorite mines include Royston, Kingman and Golden Hills, although we still love a moment for pink mojave and spiny oyster for a pop of color!

Did you know? Turquoise is known as the stone of life or “sky stone” in Native American culture and holds deep ceremonial and spiritual significance. Some legends say that turquoise was created when a tribe cried upon finally receiving rainfall.

More than anything, I hope you find pieces and brands that inspire you here!
